High Intensity Interval Training is a type of interval training in which you alternate short, very high intensity intervals with longer slower intervals to recover.  This type of class has been used by athletes to improve performance, but it’s also been proven to greatly benefit the average exerciser as well.  Studies have shown that a HIIT workout allows more fat to be burned within the exercising muscles and that there is a greater calorie burn after the workout is completed.  A HIIT class consists of both cardio and strength exercises and modifications for appropriate intensity levels can be provided.
